The Enrichment API adds structured data to supplier invoices and product data. It has two enrichments: posting suggestions, which propose account coding for each line of a supplier invoice, and product classification, which assigns UNSPSC codes to invoice lines and to products in catalogs and price lists.
| Enrichment | What you send | What you get back |
| Posting suggestions | A supplier invoice | Suggested account coding per invoice line, for your team to confirm |
| Product classification | Products with your own ID and a product name, or invoice lines | A UNSPSC code for each product, returned with your ID |
| Capture (support step) | A PDF invoice | Header data and invoice lines as structured data |
Capture turns a PDF invoice into structured data so that the enrichments have data to work with. Invoices that arrive as Peppol or other XML documents skip this step. Capture is also available on its own as the OCR API.
How a request works
- Send a POST request to the invoice or categorisation endpoint.
- Store the polling ID returned in the response.
- Collect the result with a GET request, no more than once every 30 seconds.
- Fetch the results for all enrichment types at once, or for one type.

Endpoints
POST /enrichment/{accountRegNo}/invoice
POST /enrichment/{accountRegNo}/categorisation
GET /enrichment/{accountRegNo}/{pollingId}
GET /enrichment/{accountRegNo}/{pollingId}/{enrichmentType}
The sandbox is at api-test.qvalia.com and production at api.qvalia.com. Requests are authenticated with an API key or a JWT from the Account API.
Where the results are used
- Accounts payable: confirmed account coding moves with the invoice into approval and posting.
- Catalogs and price lists: add UNSPSC codes to items that lack them.
- Spend analysis: group purchases by UNSPSC segment, family and class across suppliers.
- Your own platform: show suggestions and classifications in your own interface.
Access
The Enrichment API is billed separately and requires additional permissions. Qvalia support enables the enrichments your account uses.
