What is Svefaktura?

Svefaktura is a Swedish e-invoice format developed by SFTI (Single Face To Industry), the Swedish public sector’s e-commerce initiative. Svefaktura 1.0 is based on UBL 1.0 and was long the most common e-invoice format in Sweden.

SFTI stopped recommending Svefaktura 1.0 and 2.0 from 1 April 2021. Swedish public sector buyers must be able to receive Peppol BIS Billing 3.0, which is the format SFTI recommends today. Some older ERP and accounting systems still produce Svefaktura 1.0.

Svefaktura and Peppol

Svefaktura 1.0 is not a Peppol document type. To reach recipients on the Peppol network, a Svefaktura invoice must be converted to Peppol BIS Billing 3.0. The conversion only works if the source contains the data Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 requires, for example the electronic addresses of the seller and the buyer.

How Qvalia supports Svefaktura

Through Qvalia’s Transaction API, you can upload Svefaktura 1.0. Qvalia converts it to Peppol BIS Billing 3.0, validates it and sends it. Svefaktura is accepted as input only, so sent invoices cannot be downloaded as Svefaktura. See sending invoices in your existing format and the background in Towards a global e-invoice standard: Svefaktura to be discontinued.
