Finvoice is the Finnish XML standard for electronic invoices, published by the Finnish banks through Finance Finland (Finanssiala). The current version is Finvoice 3.0.
Finvoice invoices travel through the Finnish e-invoicing network of banks and e-invoice operators. A business sends and receives through its bank or an operator, and each invoice is addressed with the recipient’s e-invoice address and the code of the recipient’s bank or operator.
Versions
Finance Finland lists Finvoice 3.0 as the current schema. It was updated in November 2019 to follow the European e-invoicing standard. Guidelines and schemas for Finvoice 2.0 and 2.01 are still published.
Finvoice and Peppol
Finvoice is a Finnish national format and is not a Peppol document type. Invoices to recipients on the Peppol network are sent as Peppol BIS Billing 3.0.
How Qvalia supports Finvoice
Through Qvalia’s Transaction API, you can upload Finvoice 3.0 invoices and credit notes. Qvalia converts them to Peppol BIS Billing 3.0, validates them and sends them. Invoices can also be delivered as Finvoice in the Finnish e-invoicing network through Qvalia’s Finnish operator partner, which requires the buyer’s Finnish business ID or OVT code. Invoices you have sent can be downloaded as Finvoice 3.0, or as Finvoice 2 for invoices. See sending invoices in your existing format.
