Peppol BIS Punch Out supports a procurement process in which a buyer accesses a supplier’s web shop, configures items and returns a structured shopping cart to the buyer’s procurement system. The cart itself is not the purchase order. After approval, the buyer’s system creates and sends an order through the applicable ordering process.

Malli mahdollistaa B2B-verkkokauppatapahtumat ilman esimerkiksi verkkomaksuportaita ja paikan päällä tehtäviä kassaratkaisuja. Viestiä voidaan käyttää myös joustavana vertailutyökaluna, jolla voidaan vertailla eri toimittajien tuotteita tai palveluja.

BIS Punch Out perustuu eurooppalaiseen yhteentoimivuuspuitteistoon 2.0, ja se tukee B2B- ja B2G-tapahtumia.

Viestissä käytetään OASIS UBL 2.1:tä ja ISO/IEC 19757-3 Schematronia asiakirjojen validoinnin automatisointiin.
