The Peppol network supports registered business document types and processes. Common post-award documents include:
- Invoices and credit notes using Peppol BIS Billing 3
- Invoice status messages using Peppol BIS Invoice Response
- Orders and order responses using Order Only, Ordering and Advanced Ordering
- Catalogues with or without a response
- Despatch advice, Punch Out and Order Agreement documents
- Technical response and status messages defined in the current Peppol specifications, including the transition from Message Level Response (MLR) to Message Level Status (MLS)
A document can be delivered only when its exact document type and process identifiers are registered and the recipient has published support for that capability in an SMP. An XML or UBL document is not automatically valid for Peppol simply because it uses a familiar syntax.
